Hi I’m Jennifer and I’d like to talk you to about an accessory that we got for our little parakeet. It’s a natural wood branch perch put out by Max and we got it pet smart. Cost around $4.00 or $5.00 and it’s small kind. I got it because I’d read that for parakeet it’s a good idea to have different textures and different size things for them to perch on because it’s good for their feet. But as you can see right there the parakeet wants nothing to do with it. Occasionally I can make them don it but not very often. There you go. He won’t stay very long usually not a bit fan of it unfortunately. He’s only been with us for less than a month so maybe he’ll get used to it and get to the point where he likes to stand a little bit more. I certainly hope so. One nice thing about this is it’s really really easy to install. As you can see Pretty Boy’s cage here has the horizontal flats on the side and it doesn’t matter if you have horizontal or vertical it just screws right on. Very very easy to do. I had no problems. So that part I like about it. I just wish the bird liked it a little more. Actually this is the longest he has ever stayed on it and I think it’s because he’s on TV. Maybe he’s just showing off for you I don’t know. So get one there. It’s not expensive and try it and see if your bird likes it. It’s definitely healthy for their feet.

Hi I’m Jennifer and this is Pretty Boy the Parakeet. And we’d like to talk to you about Hearts Millet Spray. This little bird ordinarily will sell his soul for some millet and with the millet spray the idea is to wire it into the back of their cage so they can snack on it anytime they want. But since he’s been with us less than a month we’re trying to get him used to coming out of his cage and being around people. And so what we do you know the spray will come something like this. We just like to pull off a little piece and hand feed it to him. Of course he’s not — oh there you go. Yeah. Even though he’s nervous he’s not too nervous to accept some millet. So this has been really good for coaxing him out of his cage and to interact with people. That’s the only time we give it to him is when he comes out. Just kind of a little reward and to show him that we’re not gonna hurt him. He loves this more than his bird seed. If we feed him too much of it he won’t eat his bird seed or his vitamins coz he loves his millet so much. As you can see he’s got that about cleaned off. No more seeds left and he’s more than willing to eat another one. He loves his millet. So I definitely recommend Hearts Millet and so does Pretty Boy. You can get it at Wal-Mart. It’s not too expensive. I think I paid maybe $3.00 or $4.00 for that package. He’s very happy with it.
